Lovelady Shield comprises three, 5 star luxury holiday 'cottages' situated around a lovely cobbled courtyard.


Located within the grounds of a superb Country House Hotel, 2 miles from Alston, the location is superb. Alston is often described as "in the middle of nowhere, but central for everywhere" lying high up in the north Pennine hills on the border of Cumbria, County Durham and Northumbria within easy reach of the Lake District, Hadrians Wall and the historic cities of Carlisle and Durham. All three properties are luxuriously appointed to appeal to the most discerning customers and the experience of staying here is quite unique. The hotel facilities are available to guests staying in the cottages including free Wi-Fi, a first class restaurant, bar and lovely grounds. Food may be ordered from a bistro style menu and delivered to the cottage, or you may opt to have a casserole bubbling away in the oven for your arrival. A selection of reasonably priced wines are also available for consumption in the cottage.
