Many walks, sights and places of interest are in the local vicinity, such as Scafell Pike, Stanley Force, Hardknott Pass and Fort, Muncaster Castle, Blea Tarn, the Wasdale Valley and the famous 'Laal Ratty' Miniature Railway, running from Ravenglass to Eskdale.
