Shepherds Cottage (Millom) sleeps a maximum of 4 people.. Located in the grounds of Seaton Hall, a working dairy and sheep farm, where the cows walk by twice a day for milking. Steeped in history, this former shepherds cottage fell into dilapidation but is now restored and renovated into a charming self catering cottage. Originally a 13th century Benedictine nunnery Seaton Hall was demolished by Henry VIII under the dissolution of the monasteries and rebuilt in the 16th Century. One gable end of the monastery survives to this day and is a scheduled ancient monument. There are footpaths through the grounds to walk the dog, with more great walking in Eskdale and Wasdale. Within a 2 mile radius you will discover Bootle village, with shop, butchers and Millstones farm shop and cafe, The Brown Cow pub and a sand and shingle beach. Local visitor attractions include 'La'al Ratty' miniature railway, Muncaster Castle, a wildlife Park and Hodbarrow Nature Reserve. The beautiful villages of Broughton in Furness and Ravenglass are nearby, each have a selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. You can hop on the train at Bootle Station and enjoy the delightful coastal trip to the historic port of Whitehaven.

Broadwater Farm (Millom) sleeps a maximum of 10 people.. This traditional Lakeland farmhouse is situated within the Lake District National Park and is 30 yards from the owner's home. With large open space rooms, lovely tiled flooring throughout the downstairs and good quality furnishings, great care has been taken to provide a comfortable and relaxing home. The property has a large private enclosed lawned garden with a wonderful view over the surrounding countryside towards Black Combe. Although pets are not allowed in the farmhouse itself, the owners run a night boarding service should you wish to bring a pet and enjoy its company whilst out for the day. The quiet unspoilt Bootle beach is just ¼ mile away. This lovely holiday home is placed in the ideal location for exploring this wonderful part of the Lake District National Park. There are numerous opportunities for walking and cycling, including a climb to the top of the nearby Black Combe for breathtaking views. A short drive to the north is Muncaster Castle with beautiful gardens and the headquarters of the World Owl Trust. Take a day trip on the popular ‘La'al Ratty', the miniature steam railway at Ravenglass. Millom, 8 miles away, has a wide sandy beach with rocks, Coniston Water is a 40-minute drive, the historic port and marina of Whitehaven has a variety of shops, restaurants, museums and water sports, all within a short drive. Hartrees House (Millom) sleeps a maximum of 8 people.. Set on the western coast of the Lake District National Park, Silecroft is a quiet village, which boasts one of the most beautiful beaches in the country. The beach has won awards for its cleanliness and safety and it has an uncluttered sea front, which allows for undisturbed enjoyment of the part sandy beach and rock pools. The generously proportioned holiday home is semi-detached on two sides and is just a quarter of a mile from the beach and views from the house take in the magnificent Black Coombe Fell. Coastal sounds and smells and excellent fell walking ensures visitors can enjoy the best of both aspects of this less congested part of the Lake District. Coniston Lake, 14 miles is a scenic drive away, which leads onto the busier central lakes. The interesting market towns of Broughton in Furness and Ulverston are a 20 minute drive. Foldgate (Millom) sleeps a maximum of 12 people.. Definitely off the beaten track, this wonderful holiday home stands in the most beautiful of settings. Lying to the western side of Corney Fell, which is dominated by Black Combe, you will enjoy the most extensive views. The former Foldgate Farmhouse, nestles around a courtyard with outhouse and stables, and has been extensively refurbished. The farmhouse has lovely features - wooden and flagged floors, beams and open fires and has been warmly decorated and furnished with style and great attention to comfort. This welcoming home from home will be a haven to relax and unwind, enjoy the views from the outdoor hot tub or decked areas; or just curl up on the sofa and read a book by the fire. Alternatively, there are plenty of attractions for you to visit in the nearby locality. The small town of Bootle is just 1½ miles with shops and pubs, the lakes Wastwater, Ennerdale and Coniston are all within a 20 minute drive. The coast is 2 miles, Muncaster and Ravenglass 5 miles. This former granary looks out onto pretty gardens and provides a perfect holiday base on the western fringe of the Lake District.
