Adjacent to the owner’s home, the properties are set in a peaceful location and are an ideal base for walking, fell climbing, touring this unspoilt area of the National Park or just relaxing. Enjoy the beautiful ever changing scenery from the accommodation and stroll the many footpaths of this picturesque area, or for serious walkers there is the challenge of the Kentmere Horseshoe. Visit Haweswater, Troutbeck, Long Sleddale, and the whole of the Lake District can be easily reached by car. Staveley, 4 miles, has ample shopping, tea shops and pubs serving meals. Fishing permits can be bought for Kentmere and mountain bike hire is also available locally. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

Taking its name from the lovely outlook across an open meadow and to the fells beyond, Meadow Cottage in Staveley is an ideal base for those who prefer to be on the fringes of the busier resorts, yet only minutes away by car. The village has a host of excellent pubs and interesting outlets from cycle shops to woodturning and is at the foot of the Kentmere Valley which is rich in wildlife. Kingfishers can be seen above the weir at the edge of the village in pursuit of salmon leaping on their journey up river and head of the valley has been a nesting area of the golden eagle in past years. All this within 15 minutes of the M6!

Meadow Cottage is delightful.
