6 Ladstock Hall (Luxury) (Thornthwaite) sleeps a maximum of 4 people.. Nestled in the hillside, this magnificent building has the most spectacular views across the valley towards the mighty Skiddaw range, from its elevated location on the edge of Thornthwaite village.  Until recently Ladstock Hall was a very grand Country House Hotel, a renowned venue for weddings, it has now been converted into several apartments and cottages the standard of which is excellent.
No.6 is a first floor apartment furnished and equipped throughout to appeal to the most discerning guests.  Thornthwaite lies 3 miles to the west of Keswick at the foot of Whinlatter and close to Bassenthwaite Lake. This area is great for mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest, and walking on the surrounding fells and sailing or fishing on the lake. There are many walks to be enjoyed from the door as well as easy access to Newlands, Borrowdale and the Western Lakes. There is a bridle way immediately behind Ladstock Hall where you can walk to Braithwaite, a little over half a mile, which has a village shop, restaurant and 2 pubs each serving good food and real ale.

First Floor: No.6 benefits from spectacular views of the Skiddaw range from its 1st floor situation, it has oil fired central heating/hot water and comprises:
Spacious Lounge:  Over 26 feet long looking ou ttowards Skiddaw with a large bay window area furnished with two armchairs to make the most of the fabulous view.A spotting scope (telescope) is provided and is iseal for watching the ospreys over Bassenthwaite Lake. The lounge is equipped with a LCD TV with Freeview, Bluray/DVD, with full 5:1 surround sound, CD/radio. This is complemented by a Bose ipod docking station, Wi-fi router and flame effect electric fire. A large bookcase is stocked with a wide selection of books, DVDs and BluRays whilst the sideboard provides both jigsaws and games for rainy days.All new contemporary furnishings provide a comfortable relaxing retreat after a day on the fells.
Large kitchen/diner:  The kitchen and dining area are equipped with everything needed to entertain up to eight people around the large oak topped table and enjoy the same wonderful views of Skiddaw. The oak units with granite worktops house an electric range cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and microwave along with all the kitchen equipment you could need. There is also an LCD TV with Freeview and DVD player along with a DAB digital radio
Master bedroom:  With king size bed, fitted wardrobes and furniture and LCD TV with Freeview and en-suite shower, WC and wash basin.
Bedroom 2:  With twin beds, fitted wardrobes and furniture and TV with Freeview and DVD player. Ideal for early rising children or rainy days.
Bathroom:  With shower over bath, WC and wash basin.

All fuel, towels and bed linen provided. Wireless Broadband is provided throughout the apartment and there is a telephone to receive incoming calls (and make outgoing emergency calls). A travel cot provided. Secure storage for mountain bikes etc is provided in private locked shed.Outside, there is a patio area with seating to the front and a large sharedl garden and summer house with access to the bridleway at the rear. Private parking for 2 cars is provided and additional visitor spaces are available. NB: There are significant drops within the grounds of the property. When the owners stay at the property, they bring their dogs, so the apartment is not pet allergy free.
